The books we’ll read

So, we already have two winners:

They have made both books into films, so rather than forbid you to watch the films, which would have been pretty naive from me, I encourage you to do so and in this way we can also discuss the differences between the books and the films!

You can join one of the reading groups or both. To do so, you will have to log in with your google username and password.

We have the whole second term to read the books and send in questions. The actual discussion will take place throughout the third term. As you can see there’s no hurry but the idea is for the reading to be an enjoyable experience, so please, don’t leave until the last possible moment!!

Last chance to vote for the books you want to read

The deadline is Wednesday 10th at 12 pm, so if you haven’t voted yet, HURRY UP!!

On December 2nd

Healthy Body Healthy MindWe went to the ICT Lab and did the interactive unit Healthy Body, Healthy Mind. If you couldn’t come or you didn’t have time to finish you can do it online!

Now you choose 3 books

The time to submit suggestions for books is over, now you must vote for the 3 books you like best among all the suggestions in the list. You have until the 10th of this month to do this. Then we will see which book has got the most votes and that will be the one will read. You have to register in the blog to vote, this is because although we normally welcome contributions from everyone, it doesn’t seem fare to have other people deciding which book we should read, does it? so, log in the blog vote for the 3 books you prefer:

Tick the three books in the list you like the most.

Keep on Rockin’

It was hard for me to decide  which band I was going to talk about, because I like  a lot of groups and I couldn’t select a favourite one. At last I chose AC/DC,  which probably is the biggest band of all times.

AC/DC was formed in 1973 in Sydney (Australia) by the brothers Malcolm and Angus Young, who are the only original members that are left in the group nowadays. They released their first album “High Voltage” in 1975. This album had ten songs and it was only for sale in Australia. For this album, the formation was quite stable with Bon Scott as the lead singer, Mark Evans at the bass, Phil Rudd at the drums, and Angus and Malcolm playing the guitar. Enrique Bunbury and Helville De Luxe

Last September Enrique Bunbury released his  latest album Helville De Luxe, a great  job full of powerful songs.

The standard CD includes 11 tracks but, if you buy the vinyl format, you can find four extra tracks, one of them was originally written by Raphael, one of the singers that Enrique admires the most, although it sounds incredible!

Enrique Ortiz de Landázuri, which is his real name, was born in Zaragoza in 1967. He is a really good singer and songwriter but he can play almost any instrument as well, although in his performances he usually plays just the guitar and the harmonica.

In the 80s he started playing music with different bands but he became famous as the singer of the well known band Héroes del Silencio. They were successful in Spain but also in America and Europe - even in Germany, which is unusual for a Spanish band. Continue reading ‘Enrique Bunbury and Helville De Luxe’
